Chris Tellis graduated from Yale University in 1974. In 1986, he co-founded Antenna Audio along with Antenna Theater Director Chris Hardman. Over the next 22 years, Mr. Tellis guided the evolution of Antenna Audio from a small team of audio artists to the leading museum audio interpretation business worldwide, with offices in 14 countries and permanent programs at the Louvre, Vatican, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Getty Museum, Smithsonian, Tokyo Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of Art, National Palace Museum, and hundreds of other museums and cultural sites throughout the world. In his role as worldwide CEO of Antenna, he lived in London from 2001-2003, and was named by Fortune magazine as one of America’s leading new entrepreneurs.
Mr. Tellis returned to Sausalito in 2004 and in 2006 sold Antenna Audio to Discovery Networks. He is currently President of Embarcadero Financial Corporation and General Partner of Interest Income Partners, a private investment fund. He also owns and manages the Yellow Ferry Harbor, a houseboat marina in Sausalito. Mr. Tellis and his wife, painter Isabella Kirkland, live in the marina on the eponymous Yellow Ferry, an 1888 Seattle ferryboat.
