Frances McCormack is an abstract painter whose work draws on the history of gardens and landscape design. She was the recipient of the first SFAI faculty residency at the American Academy in Rome, curator the exhibition Silence, Exile, and Cunning for the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art and recently collaborated with the San Francisco composer Kurt Rohde and the writer Sue Moon, producing a series of videos for the multimedia work Artifacts. “Artifacts” opened at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2012 and is currently traveling to venues on the east coast. McCormack is represented by the Elins Eagles-Smith Gallery, San Francisco, and the R. B. Stevenson Gallery, La Jolla, California.
