ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION
SFAI has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment verifications through EnrollVerify.
An enrollment verification verifies that a student is enrolled in the term of which they request an enrollment verification. Enrollment verifications are typically used by students when students are applying for childcare, DMV documents, limited income services, and student loan deferments. Enrollment verifications take up to 24 hours to process. Please indicate a receiving fax or mailing address or if you would like to pick up the verification from our office on the Enrollment Verification Form. If you need an official letter on SFAI letterhead verifying your enrollment, you may request instead a Letter of Enrollment for your foreign government.
A Letter of Enrollment verifies your enrollment and is signed by the Registrar's Office. Letters of Enrollment take 1-3 business days to process.
DIPLOMAS
Diplomas are no longer available to be ordered. We apologize for this inconvenience.
A Certificate of Graduation often works in lieu of a Diploma for the purpose of verification. See below for information on requesting a Certificate of Graduation.
DEGREE VERIFICATION
SFAI has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree verifications through DegreeVerify. If you need an official letter on SFAI letterhead verifying your degree, you may request instead a Certificate of Graduation for your foreign government.
A Certificate of Graduation verifies your degree and is sealed and signed by the Registrar's Office. To request a certificate, download a Certificate of Graduation Request Form through the above link. Certificates are often effective in lieu of a diploma to verify degrees for international students. Certificates typically take 1-3 business days to process.
APOSTILLES
An apostille is an authentication certificate, honored by countries subscribed to the Hague Convention, that is issued by the Secretary of State. Apostilles can be affixed to a certified copy of a transcript, certificate of graduation, or diploma. The Registrar’s Office does not provide apostille processing, but a mobile apostille service can be used to notarize documents and complete the process through the Secretary of State’s Office. Documents such as a Transcript, a Certificate of Graduation, or a replacement diploma may be ordered through the Registrar’s Office. Our office will hold onto your documents and work with the mobile service for notarization. After documents are notarized, the mobile apostille service will take them directly to the Secretary of State’s Office for the apostille, and then mail your documents to a final destination of your choice.
For more details about using a mobile service, please contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@sfai.edu. Additional information about apostilles can also be found on the California Secretary of State’s website.
POLICY STATEMENT
All students should read the general regulations found both in the Course Schedule and the Student Handbook. Lack of familiarity with sections pertaining to any issues in question does not excuse students from the obligation to follow the policies and procedures set out therein. Although every effort has been made to ensure that the Course Schedule and Student + Campus Handbook are as accurate as possible, students are advised that the information contained in them is subject to change or correction.
Students should check their SFAI email (@artists.sfai.edu), the Student Portal, and WebAdvisor (Searchable Course Schedule, My Class Schedule) online for the most updated changes to academic policies, requirements, and courses. SFAI reserves the right to change any curricular offering, policy, requirement, or financial regulation whenever necessary and as the requirements of SFAI demand.
In maintaining accurate records of the academic progress of students, the Registrar’s Office is responsible for interpreting and enforcing Academic Policies as described in the Student + Campus Handbook. It also provides statistical and individually identifiable information to appropriate persons at SFAI and to federal and state accrediting agencies and other organizations according to regulations subscribed to by accredited schools in higher education.
