Conversation + Book Release of 500 Capp Street
500 Capp Street is the late David Ireland’s (MFA, 1974) best-known work, an 1890s Victorian in the Mission District of San Francisco that the artist transformed into an immersive artwork, studio space, and the site of legendary dinners. Ireland’s renovations became experiments in form, material, and social space and presaged many artist-designed homes.
Amy Trachtenberg and Gay Outlaw will join Constance Lewallen in conversation. A book signing will follow the talk with copies of 500 Capp Street available for sale.
