Erin Shirreff’s work brings photography, sculpture, and video together to craft new—and at times unknowable—experiences of form and images. Her work elegantly interleaves these media, and results in hybrid forms such as sculptural work viewed solely as 2D images, or sculptures that mimic photographs through the use of materials such as ash and cement. Shirreff has presented solo exhibitions at Artpace, San Antonio; White Cube, London; The Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver; and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. She has been an Artist in Residence at The MacDowell Colony, received grants from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation and The Canada Council for the Arts, and her work is in collections such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She is represented by Sikkema Jenkins & Co., New York.
