Orit Ben Shitrit will discuss her recent work and the tension between what she describes
as “implicating the powers that be, their mechanisms of domination, and their
effect—the potential for violence.” while also reverberating with the resistance to be
defined. Ben Shitrit will share background and ideas relating to two film works and three
video productions.

Orit Ben Shitrit has recently exhibited her work nationally at the American University
Museum/Katzen Arts Center, Washington, D.C. as well as C24 Gallery, White Columns,
ZAZ10TS and the Nathan Cummings Foundation—all in New York. International
Museum exhibitions include MACRO Museo d’arte contemporanea, Roma; Museum
Van Loon, Amsterdam, El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe, the Herzliya Museum of Art;
Biennial of Moving Image (BIM) at Museum MUNTREF, Centro de Arte
Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires; as well as in: Austria, Brazil, China, England, Germany,
Finland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, and the US.
