Terry Powers: Method-Acting | November 14
Visiting Artists and Scholars
Terry Powers is a painter who lives and works in San Francisco, and is the recipient of the 2017 Richard Diebenkorn Teaching Fellowship. Terry received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, and his MFA from Stanford in 2013. When he isn’t teaching, or taking care of his newborn son, Terry makes paintings that question modernist principles of progress. Through quotation, restaging, and reenactment, Terry’s paintings attempt to break apart and restructure a historical timeline that until recently has been seen as a linear evolution.
