On View: October 20–26
Opening Reception: Tuesday, October 22 | 5–8pm
Featuring: Dani Melen, Oscar Lopez and Christopher Williams
It Is Our Privilege questions what is invisible, valued, or advantageous about being born into a certain group. Through research and self reflection, one’s identity inspires stories, thus deepening knowledge of culture, ethnic or racial categories, gender and experiences. Featuring artists Dani Melen, Oscar Lopez and Christopher Williams, It Is Our Privilege shares narratives grounded in the experience and perspective of each artist. By bringing together a diverse audience, this body of work seeks to challenge notions of how art can be vehicle for transcending stereotypes and differences. What we share, most importantly, is the deep empathy that defines us as artists.
